Read on to learn more about Matt
1. Tell us your full name? Mathew Koenig
2. Where and when were you born? right here in hick town. also known as Two Harbors Minnesota. on january 9th 1977.
3. Do you have any brother’s or sister’s? one sister.
4. Are you married or single? depands who's asking?? i am in a longterm relationship right now.
5. Any kids? two. my son is 11 and my daughter is 4.
6. Where do you live now? i moved back to my hometown to raise my kids.
7. What do you do for a living? i am a CNC machinest.
8. Do you have a Nickname that you like to go by? the only nickname i have is my cb handle and my name on the 4x4 boards. zukiman
9. If so, how did you get this Nickname? this is the name a picked because i liked suzuki samurai's.
10. How many years have you been into the sport of off roading? about 14 years.
11. Who, or what first got you interested in the sport? i live in a small town were most people's hunting shack roads are considered offroading. we used to have mudruns and the local sand/rock pits were always fun to play in.
12. Are you involved in any off-road club’s? yes. MN4WDA
13. What other brands of 4x4's have you owned? chevy, ford, and jeep
14. Is this your first Suzuki? yes
15. How did you aquire it? i bought it when i was 19
16. How much did you pay for it? i forget. it was $3,000 or $4000.
17. How much would you guess you have into it? well when i decided to start wheeling it...about $1200. but i am currently modifying it again. so my total so far is now about $2200.
18. Tell us about your Suzuki. i have a grey 87 tin top. when i bought it, it was in perfect shape. it is now a bit rusty and dented from good times.
16. Does it have a Nickname? the zuki.
18. How often do you get to wheel? not once this year. but on average once a month.
19. What is your favorite Wheeling area? i like to play on the rocks. but whatever is between me and the rocks is fairgame.
20. What's the best modification you made to your rig so far? lockers
21. What's the worst? don't have one yet.
22. Bolt on Mods, or make it yourself? i bought a yj spring kit. since then i have boght a welder and all other mods i have made on my own.
23. What’s your level of mechanical skills? pretty good i guess. i was a mechanic for 8 years, even went to college for it.
24. What's your style of Wheeling? Trail Ride, Hill Climbing, Technical, Rocks, Mud or Carnage? yup
25. What’s the scariest moment you’ve ever had off-roading? last year. i slid sideways down the side of a hill and the only thing stopping me from a long drop was the tree i hit. i had one wheel hanging off the edge and no way out excpet to get heavy on the skinny pedal and hope for the best. it turned out ok. with minor body damage.
26. What was the funniest? i was letting a friend of mine drive my zuki and he didn't clear a small hill. when packing back down he hit the front bumper on the ground and ripped it right off.
27. What have you learned from the sport that you can apply to your everyday life? if at first you don't succeed keep trying.
28. What other outdoor activities do you enjoy? camping, hiking, and fishing.
29. What is your favorite Wheelin Music? the truck got stuck, and just about all country, with some rock and roll.
30. Radio, CD’s or "Trail Music" when your wheeling? radio and cb chatter.
31. When you're not off-roading, or working, how do you like to spend your time? with family, and working on my rig.
32. Tell us a little known fact about yourself. my first choice for college was to be an accountant.
33. If you could give any piece of advice to a future off-roader, what would it be? bigger dosen't always mean better, there are more important things to wheeling than horsepower, and listen to your spotter. _________________
